Last Sunday, Venezuela beat Brazil 2-0 at soccer in a historical match which Valentina-our very own Venezuelan representative-recollects in this description.

In Venezuela we started playing soccer only ten years ago. So having to play against one of the best, we didn’t believe we were going to be able to win. We didn’t think Venezuela was good at soccer either, so the result of this match was very surprising to us.

Everything seemed very difficult for Venezuela, but almost at the end of the first half our players took advantage of the fact that Brazil was not playing very well, and they scored our first goal. And before the end of the first half, we scored another one.

I think that Brazil’s goalkeeper made lots of mistakes that let Venezuela score those two goals. During the second half, Brazil tried to score but it seemed Venezuela really wanted to win, because the players did not let Brazil score any goals and so, in the end, we won!!!

Dunga, Brazil’s coach, said: “I think Brazil is not playing well”.

This game will be part of Venezuela’s history.
