On June 2nd, 6th form had a vernissage about the city of St. Marcel at the time of the French Revolution
Most of the drawings showed a gloomy atmosphere, because the artists chose dark and depressing colours. They also chose those colours because in all the pictures the people were very sad.
All the houses were broken and had broken windows. A family of about ten people lived in one single house. To forget their miserable lives, they drank a lot of wine.
In all the pictures the people showed a lot of violence, because they killed, stole and fought. In our opinion this happened because they didn’t have education. The wine shop was very important because people spent most of their time there.
We think that all the pictures were very well expressed.
